HEC Paris and ESMT Berlin Join Forces to Launch Innovative ‘Next-Generation Computing’ Program with CDL and Dieter Schwarz Stiftung SupportOn May 28, 2024, in Berlin, HEC Paris and its Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute (IEI) signed an intention letter with ESMT Berlin and its DEEP - Institute for Deep Tech Innovation to launch a new, cutting-edge program within the Creative Destruction Lab, focusing on ‘next generation computing’, with the instrumental support of the Dieter Schwarz Stiftung.

This partnership aims to ensure Europe’s technological sovereignty by driving technological advancements, fostering a dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem, and supporting the next generation of European entrepreneurs.
It will bring together two leading European business schools with a global reach - ESMT Berlin and HEC Paris - the international Tech acceleration program for scienced-based companies based in Toronto, Canada – The Creative Destruction Lab - and one of the largest German foundations - The Dieter Schwarz Foundation.
As part of Emmanuel Macron's state visit to Germany, Éloïc Peyrache, Dean of HEC Paris, and Jörg Rocholl, chairman of ESMT Berlin, signed this agreement of intent at the French Embassy in Berlin, in the presence of the French Minister for Europe, Jean-Noël Barrot, and the French Minister for Higher Education and Research, Sylvie Retailleau.
To support the implementation of the new CDL “next generation computing” program in Germany and France, the collaboration between HEC Paris, ESMT Berlin, and stakeholders from the Dieter Schwarz Stiftung will contribute to :
- Identifying and recruiting high-potential science-based startups for the program
- Providing experienced mentors from their extensive networks to guide the participating startups
- Facilitating access to business students from their institutions to support the startups with business development tasks
CDL-Paris and CDL-Berlin are proud to address this new stream, and to nurture a vibrant and dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem for tech entrepreneurs in Europe!
